concrete

firstly we started by putting on my ppe and getting the equipment that i would be using "
2 bags of ballast
1 bag of sharp sand
1 bag of cement"
1 in-mould
first i started by putting the ballast into a wheelbarrow i then started putting in the sharpsand and mixing them together i then added some cement and water and started mixing the ballast cement etc.. untill i felt that it was mixed i then started shoving the concrete into the in-mould until filled.
i then started tapping the corners to get the air bubbles out after i felt that all the bubbles was out i smooths the top of any extra water
i then left it to dry for 24hours then took it out carefully not to break after i reported to the site manager  and cleaned up my area.

string line 3-4-5

firstly i started by putting on some of my PPE boots and gloves and collecting the equipment that i would be using "string and garden wire and 6bricks to hold in place

i then started by making a left angle triangle " 90' angle" "with the string and holding it with bricks the measurements was 400cm/300cm/500cm
400cm down 300cm right-left 500cm across
i then tied around garden wire around the string where the string crossed over.
i then started making the right angle triangle into a square making sure that all corners was at a 90' angle

after i made the square i got the site manager to check the string line and then he gave me another task which was to take out a part of a corner and made sure all corners in the square was at 90'.
 after finishing that task i reported back to the site manager took a picture "with the big camera" and cleaned up my area.

manhole

firstly I started by putting on my PPE boots gloves and goggles to protect my eyes skin and hands from any cuts and dust going anywhere.
after i put on my PPE i started collecting the equipment that I would by using for the manhole

I started by drawing a line where I was going to build the manhole I secondly started laying the first course to get an outline to guide, i then used the right angle to get the bricks level. i then started laying the second course where i started checking to see if all side was plum i carrioed on this method till i was 6courses high.
the hardest thing about the manhole was remebering to make sure that all the sides was plum not just my side but michaels side was aswell.

the next day i took a picture and started taking down the manhole after the manhole was cleared i cleaned up my area and reported back to the site manager

English bond 1790mm / 6 courses

firstly I started by putting on my PPE

Steel toe capped boots - to protect my feet from falling bricks
goggles - to protect my eyes from anything "dust from the bricks"
gloves - to protect my skin from the lime in the pug and from any sharp objects " corners in the bricks"

i then started by getting 2 breeze blocks and placing a pallet on top where the pug was going to be.
 i then drew a line "1790cm" where the wall from going to be.
i then started getting the equipment that i was going to be using ready to use.

i then started building the wall up 12-8 untill i finished the wall on the sheet
after i finished i sharpened up the wall then took a picture.
i then cleaned up my area and reported to the site manager.

12-9 brick wall

first i started by putting on my P.P.E
boots - to protect from any heavy/ falling items
 gloves - to protect my skin from the pug and sharp edges of the bricks
 goggles - to protect my eyes from dust and pug
After putting on my PPE I began by getting all the tools that i would need
trovel

string line

pallet

i then drew a line so i know where to place the wall i then started by building my part of the wall, " this wall was very annoying because i didnt finish the first day and when i came back on tuesday the wall had started leaning and i had to rebuild nearly all of the wall again"
after i finished the wall and i was happy that it was plum and level it was checked by the site manager and after he was happy "7/10" i cleaned up my area and reported to the site manager 

breeze blocks

first thing I did was to make sure I was wearing the right P.P.E boots gloves goggles to protect my skin/hands eyes and feet from any dust or falling blocks or bricks.

I then started by moving 5 breeze blocks to where i was going to make the wall i then got a spirt level marking gauge and trowel to make sure that it was level and not  leaning.

i then drew out a line where the edge of the blocks was going to stand, after marking out i then started laying pug on the line and placing the blocks on top of each other.

after finishing i showed it to the site manager and took it down after it was ok then i cleaned up my area and reported back to the sitemanager to my next task

moving timber

I firstly got started by looking at the job sheet to find out what job I was going to be doing "moving timber".

I then starting filling out a risk assessment on the task.
After completing the risk assessment I started by checking the delivery ticket and made any changes that were needed.
I then started putting on my P.P.E
Boots- to protect my feet from dropping paint
Gloves- to protect my skin from the paint
Goggles- to protect my eyes
after putting on all P.P.E I started to check the route to make sure that there were no obstructions.
After making sure the route was clear I started moving the timber from the storeroom to the workshop
till the task was finished.
I then reported back to the site manager for further instruction



making a small pyramid of bricks

first thing I did was to report to the site manager to find out what task I was about to undertake " building a pyramid 4-3-2-1"
i then started putting on my PPE

gloves
goggles to protect skin/hands eyes and feet

bricklaying

I started by fetching 2 breeze blocks and placing them on the floor where the pug was going.
I then picked up a small board and placed it on top of the blocks.
I then picked up 10 facing bricks and placed them on the floor.

I then began by getting a spirt level and height gauge and drawing a line soo the wall is straight, "1115mm"
I then started putting pug on the floor and placing the bricks on top of the pug "the face toward me"
5 bricks - 4.5 bricks - 4 bricks - 3.5 bricks etc

I firstly got started by looking at the job sheet to find out what job I was going to be doing.

after putting on all P.P.E i started to check the route to make sure that there were no obstructions.
After making sure the route was clear I started moving the paint from the storeroom into the workshop
"moved 2 at a time"
I moved the paint until the room was empty then I moved them all back in the same order I took them out
after completing the task i cleaned up the area and reported back to the site manager.

moving loost ballast/sand

first I checked the job sheet to find out what needed to be done.

next I started by filling out the risk assessment on the task and the partner that was helping move 1 ton of sand.
after completing the risk assessment i started by looking at the delivery ticket and making changes to the order.
 I then started putting on my P.P.E
Boots- to protect my feet from the wheelbarrow
Gloves- to protect my hands/skin from the sand
Goggles- from the sand/ dust from my eye

I then got a shovel and a wheelbarrow and started moving the ballast/sand with the other collegues untill the bag was empty then refilling it back up.
after finishing this task i reported back to my site manager.

first i checked the job sheet to find out what i was about to do "moving bags of ballast"
after checking the job sheet i started filling out a risk assessment on the task

i then checked the delivery ticket and made some changes on the ticket
after that i checking the delivery ticket i checked the route that i was going to take
"outside college to the workshop and back outside"

i then put on my P.P.E
Boots to protect my feet from the ballast falling on my feet
Gloves to protect my skin
Goggles to protect any ballast/dust going into my eye

after putting on my ppe i started picking up a pallet and placed it in the workshop for the ballast to be stacked on,
i then started moving ballast 1 at a time by putting it on my shoulder until all the ballast was moved to the workshop and back again.

after i finished the task i cleaned up the area where i was working then i reported back to the site manage for my next job.

plasterboard task

firstly I looked at the job sheet from the site manager to see what task has to be done.
after I carried out a risk assessment on each other and the task
I next checked the delivery ticket for the order, after making some changes
I then began to check the route that I was going to take to make sure there was no obstructions


I then began putting on my P.P.E
Boots- to protect my feet from falling objects
Glasses- to protect from dust from the plasterboard's.
gloves- to protect my skin from the plasteboard's.

I then began moving the plasterboard " 2 people per board "
from the workshop to a empty workshop then moving them back.
stacked on top of each other so they dont bow or bend out of shape.
after i finished moving the plasterboards i reported back to the site manager.

cement block task

first we selected a partner to complete the job sheet and looked at what task we was about to do.
we then carried out a risk assessment on each other and the task.
after the risk assessment,  I checked the delivery ticket for the order "quantity and product"
after I made some changes on the order i signed thge delivery ticket.

i then checked the route that we would take for any obstructions "cars and other workers"
i then began putting on my P.P.E.

"Boots" - to protected my foot from any falling items that may be dropped
"Gloves"- to protected my skin from sharp edges "e.g cuts"
"Glasses" - to protect from dust on the blocks

I then began by pushing the wheel barrow to the desination "place of the blocks"
I then started loading the wheel barrow up with cement blocks " 4-6 blocks at a time"
and began pushing them up the hill watching for oncoming obstructions.

after completing the task I cleaned up the area and reported to the site manager

Starting multi trade construction

first we look at the job sheet that was given at the start of the day, then carried out a risk assessment on my colleague "Lloyd" then one on the task.
after finishing the assessment i checked the delivery ticket for quantity and product, then after making some changes "facing bricks - common house bricks" and the number from 150 to 60.

I then started to make sure the route is clear of obstructions i then put on my PPE and put down a wooden prop to put the bricks on. I carried around 6 bricks at a time, stacked in a jenga style till i had 60 bricks on the wooden prop.

last of all i cleaned the area and reported to the site manager. =)
